Renovation of the 1948 vintage communication and Journalism (C&J) building, located near the northwest corner of Central Ave and Yale Blvd, started May 16, 2006.   The University of New Mexico Series 2005 Bond Issue proceeds are funding the $5.8 million project. The construction cost is $4,133,000.   The renovated 31,899 square feet will create teaching spaces and bring new digital technologies to the 625 majors and graduate students in Communication & Journalism.  Construction is slated to be completed by March 2007
